Using external email providers with SAGE

SAGE supports using external email providers to receive emails via forwarding.

Supported Providers

We currently only support GMail. If you would like to see support for other providers, please let us know.

Setting up GMail

To set up GMail forwarding, you obviously need a GMail account. You can sign up using mobile data on your mobile device to skip the phone verification.

  1. Go to GMail and sign in.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner and select “See all settings”.
  3. Go to the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” tab.
  4. Click on “Add a forwarding address”.
  5. Enter your forwarding address 1 and click “Next”.
  6. Click “Proceed” on the confirmation dialog.

After that, you need to verify the forwarding address:

  1. Go back to SAGE and where you copied the Forwarding Address, click on View Emails
  2. Click on Load Emails
  3. Copy the verification link and open it in your browser

After that, you can set up the email forwarding:

  1. Go back to GMail and refresh the page.
  2. Go back to the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” tab.
  3. Click on “Forward a copy of incoming mail to” and select your forwarding address.
  4. You can choose to keep a copy of the forwarded emails in your inbox or not.
  5. Click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.

Footnotes

  1. The forwarding address is retrieved from SAGE. Go to Generate > Domains and scroll down to Email Forwarding.
