Purchasing a Custom Domain

Here are some instructions on how to purchase a custom domain for your app.

Permanent or Temporary Domain

Firstly, you need to decide whether you want to purchase a permanent domain or a temporary one.

You can get a temporary domain for as low as 1.5$ for the first year. However, the renewal cost will be a lot higher (easily above 20$ per year).

A permanent domain will cost you around 4-6$ per year.

Recommendation

Here’s what we do. We buy one permanent domain from Cloudflare for 5.18$ per year and a few dozen of 1.48$ NameCheap domains.

Then we use Email Vault to automatically transfer accounts generated on the temporary domains to our permanent domain.

We recommend purchasing a permanent domain from Cloudflare.

Their cheapest domains are 4.16$ for the first year and 5.16$ for the subsequent years.
